Steve Booke

Steve Booke, a Berklee College of Music graduate (B.A. degree), makes his living as a composer of music for film and television. He endorses Larrivee Guitars, Dunlop, D’Addario/Planet Waves, Mogami cables, Waves, Seymour Duncan, Soldano, Levy’s Leathers, Peavey, Graph Tech, L.R. Baggs and Digitech. He performs his own music with his 5 piece acoustic world music ensemble, Violet Samudra, in the New York area in addition to playing freelance country, blues and jazz gigs. Steve has written music for shows on the Discovery Channel as well as commercial work in Australia and Russia. TV shows that featured Steve’s music include: The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Real World, Bands on the Run, Mind of Mencia, Spy in the Wild, True Life, The Fabulous Life, American Soldier, 2006 FIFA World Cup, The Bible Series. Networks that featured Steve’s music include: NBC, Discovery Channel, A&E ,Biography Channel ,MTV ,VH-1 ,Comedy Central, The Travel Channel, HGTV ,Animal Planet ,The Learning Channel ,CMTV, Style Network Career Highlights: • Scored and recorded music for indie movie released “Open Mic” and “The Fire” • Appeared in the January issue of EQ magazine in their “Room with a VU” column. • Toured with “Pain Museum” on the U.S and Canadian “Metal Gods Tour” with Halford, Testament, Primal Fear and Immortal. • Performed with the Coasters, Platters and Drifters. • Won the June 2005 Song of the Year contest in the Instrumental/World/Jazz category. • Featured in the Feb. ’06 issue of Guitar Player magazine.
