Marc Black

Marc has performed at Austin’s SXSW and the Kerrville and Falcon Ridge Folk Festivals and has opened shows for Bob Dylan, and other national acts. His song "The Last One" was a staple of Richie Havens' concerts. Inspired by Marc’s lifelong love affair with the American West, RIDE, his critically acclaimed current release, presents ten cinematic recordings capturing its wide open spaces and timeless romantic allure. It’s received national airplay and STARBUCKS has licensed it for worldwide in-store airplay. He's currently working on a new boundary stretching album called FOLK MUSIC with Tony Garnier, Dylan's longtime bandleader. His most recent full CD, Stroke of Genius features a supporting cast that includes Steve Gadd, Art Garfunkel, John Sebastian, and the Dixie Hummingbirds. The lyrics on this new album are based on the inspired poetry of a man who was in a coma for 21 days and miraculously woke up after his doctors had pulled life support. Marc lives north of New York City where he continues recording, scoring films & commercials, and playing live, both solo and with his band.
