Elena Skye

Elena Skye
Elena Skye is an alt-country/americana singer-songwriter based in NYC who has been fronting the Demolition String Band since its inception in 1996. Not a "string band" per se (although it started as one) the Demolition String Band has released four albums: "One Dog Time" (North Hollow Records, 1998), "Pulling Up Atlantis" (Okra-Tone Records 2001), "Where The Wild, Wild Flowers Grow: The Songs Of Ola Belle Reed" (Okra-Tone Records, 2003), and "Different Kinds Of Love" (Breaking Records, 2007). Billboard critic Chuck Taylor had this to say about the band: " 'Different Kinds Of Love' delivers on the group's beloved mix of bluegrass, hanky tonk, rock and Bayou ooze...Demolition's members are across-the-board connoisseurs: master instrumentalists, lyricists and entertainers, while Skye is a vocal treasure." They have traveled extensively across the US and Europe to enthusiastic fans. Their music has appeared in film and on television, and they coniitnue to be at the forefront of the Americana scene in the NYC area.
