D Henry Fenton
D Henry Fenton has just wrapped up his latest album called HOWLIN' BACK, once again with engineer/producer, Steve Holroyd (Counting Crows/Tom Petty)at Rogers Boat Studio in LA. Fenton has been touring in his homeland of Australia .D Henry Fenton is a singer-songwriter from Sydney Australia who has been based in Los Angeles, California for the last few years. He has released 3 solo albums as well as 2 singles and an EP with his first band Holly Golightly. Holly Golightly got a break opening for prominent Irish band, The Corrs, on an Australian tour. "Autumn Sweet" was the title of his first album, recorded in North Carolina with uber awesome indie producer Mitch Easter (REM/The Hummingbirds), it gained some good radio airplay on Australia's Triple J with the song "The Many Faces Of Esther" and the Sydney Morning Herald hailing him as 'one of the most original talents to emerge from this country in the past decade' The second album “Turnin’” was recorded with engineer/producer Steve Holroyd (Counting Crows/Tom Petty) and received some positive US college radio airplay, with a few bigger stations (including KBAC, Santa Fe NM) adding the title track to their playlists. He has opened for acts including John Mayer, Kasey Chambers, Colbie Caillat, Lissie, Ed Kuepper, Pete Murray and Morphine. His music blends americana, folk, pop, and indie-rock, bringing to mind bands like Wilco, Neil Young, Crowded House and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. He performs regularly in Southern California and now comes back to Australia twice a year to play , either solo or with his band affectionately known as The Elizabethans, which includes drummer Dave Krusen who was a member of Pearl Jam (Ten) and bass player Mary Beth Kedzior, who ran into Billy Gibbons at one of the shows and he whispered in her ear that he would love to hear her playing a Fender instead of a Gibson, so she did. Interesting facts, D Henry Fenton states he once tossed 7 coins into the air and they all landed on heads and his favorite 3 guitarists are Johnny Marr, Neil Young and Mike Oldfield.
