Andrew Morrison

Andrew’s love for music started at an early age. At age ten he dabbled with the clarinet, piano and a snare drum but something wasn’t quite right. He knew that what he needed was a guitar. After his parents bought him his first electric guitar, he spent his teen years studying, reading, writing and recording music and of course, forming garage bands. After graduating from Musicians Institute in Hollywood at age nineteen, he kept on writing, recording and playing venues all over Southern California. Through the years and a variety of musical explorations, Andrew’s focus has always remained on songwriting. Detours is a collection of songs that is best described as singer/songwriter. From the opening track “Detours” to the last track “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” a subdued Tears For Fears cover, the listener is taken on a journey through a variety of musical styles. Andrew’s unique blend of acoustic, folk, rock and Americana is woven together with moody and catchy melodies. Detours is a heartfelt album with a modern and contemporary feel.
